Taboguilla Plant (Panama) – 12 km heating cables for high temperatures
Our customer needed to maintain a fuel storage facility, which included pipes, tanks and instruments, on Taboguilla Island in the Panama Strait at a constant temperature.
There were numerous variables to take into account: the marine and therefore corrosive environment, the danger of explosion and fire, the maximum exposure temperature, the supply voltage, the fact that highly flammable fuel was being transported and so on.
The key point of this project was the application engineering in the offer phase, but also the detailed engineering in the post-order phase, with the definition of each individual circuit, the electrical diagrams, an installation book and certificates. In addition to the heating cable and accessories, the scope of supply included electrical panels, temperature probes, temperature controls and installation supervision.
